Alistair Dow opening Police portacabin on Battery Retail Park

More Local Policing: Cllr Alistair Dow has welcomed the new Police portacabin on the Battery Retail Park.

A new Police portacabin was opened by Selly Oak Councillor Alistair Dow on Saturday 18 April 2009. Located in the car park of the Battery Retail Park on Chapel Lane (opposite Sainsburys), the new "cop shop" will be used as a base for the Neighbourhood Policing Team and a venue for Police surgeries.

"Community policing is what local residents want," said Councillor Alistair Dow. "This new local base for the Police will make them more visible and approachable for local residents."

The permanent Police presence will reassure local businesses and residents, making Selly Oak a safer place to live and shop.

You can find details of your local Neighbourhood Policing Team on the West Midlands Police website at http://www.west-midlands.police.uk/np/index.asp
